I should probably mention upfront that when I first saw this I had only a vague, embarrassingly primitive notion of what relativity actually was. I wasn't looking for it. I was just following the structure of the Phenomena & asking what happens when Phurlons are different lengths in different regions. & then it hit me.
Hang on. I think I just found the reason relativity exists. Or at least what I thought it was.
I didn't set out to explain relativity. I just saw a structure & got curious about what it could do.
I don't claim this is. But rather what if. & what if the universe is like a film?
Not a metaphor. A literal, discrete, frame-by-frame projection where each tick of the Phlash cycle is one frame & each Phurlon is the distance between pixels.
The frame rate never changes. The Phlash cycle is constant everywhere in the Phenomena, the same tick, the same tempo, the same projector speed from the densest region of a black hole's belly to the loneliest stretched edge of the observable universe.
But the distance between the pixels does change. & that changes everything.
In regions of high Phress, the Phurlons contract. The Phenom are drawn closer together. Each frame shows them having moved only a tiny distance. To an observer in a lower Phress region watching in, things appear to move slowly. In regions of low Phress, the Phurlons stretch. The Phenom are further apart. Each frame shows them having leapt a much greater distance. To an observer in a higher Phress region looking out, things appear to move fast.
This is Phluidity ≋. Not a force. Not a field. It's how fast & smoothly things appear to move through the Phenomena, determined entirely by the local Phurlon distance relative to where the observer is standing.
Think of Gumby. When the animator wants Gumby to run, they move him further across the set between each frame. When they want him to walk, they move him smaller distances each frame. The TV plays at the same frame rate either way. The audience sees the same smooth motion either way. What changes is only the distance between positions. In PT, Phress is the animator. Phluidity ≋ is the movie.
Two ideas had been sitting in my head for a while. Separately they were interesting. Together they turned into something I wasn't expecting.
The first came from the structure of the Phenomena itself. The Phlash cycle is the heartbeat of the universe. One tick, one frame, one projection. & between each tick there is a gap. A sub-Phurlon, sub-Phlash moment that no observer inside the Phenomena can ever see, because it is smaller than the smallest measurable length & shorter than the smallest measurable time. It is physically impossible to see between frames. So the Phenomena always appears to be in smooth, fluid, continuous motion. Not because it is continuous. But because the gaps are invisible. Reality feels seamless because we are inside the film & the cuts are too fast to catch.
The second idea was there from the moment I first saw the Phenomena. A structure made of stretching Phurlons & varying Phress was always going to produce regions of different density. Dense regions where Phurlons contract. Sparse regions where they stretch. That led to Phress, to gravity, to expansion & contraction. Different neighbourhoods of the Phenomena with different local geometries.
Then one day I looked at those two ideas sitting next to each other & something clicked.
If the Phenomena always appears smooth & continuous, & different regions have different Phurlon lengths, then the apparent speed of anything depends entirely on where you're watching from. Same Phlash cycle everywhere. Everything technically moving at c. But the steps look bigger or smaller depending on the Phurlon density of the observer's location. An ant watching Mickey thinks he's moving impossibly fast. A celestial body watching the same Mickey thinks, is that thing even moving?
Neither is wrong.
& that's when it hit me. This isn't just an interesting structural quirk. This is the reason relativity exists. Not a calculation of it. Not a mathematical framework describing it. The actual structural reason everything can travel at c & still appear to move at completely different speeds depending on who's watching. Einstein found the shape of it from the top down. I think PT finds the reason for it from the bottom up. & I found it by accident, sitting there wondering why the Phenomena looks smooth.
Every observer in the Phenomena is embedded in their own local Phurlon density. They read everything else relative to that. There is no view from nowhere. No neutral observer with a clipboard floating outside the universe. Every measurement of speed, every experience of time, every perception of motion is filtered through the Phluidity ≋ of where you're standing.
We're all watching Steamboat Willie. Same film, same frame rate, same Mickey. But some of us are in the back row & Mickey is barely moving. & some of us are in the front row & Mickey looks like he drank too much caffeine & someone put a rocket in his boat. Neither of us is wrong. We're just watching from different Phurlon densities.
That's not a metaphor for relativity. In PT that is the mechanism of relativity. He found the shape of it from the top. PT finds the reason for it from the bottom.
This one also crept up on me. & it started with a simple question. If different regions of the Phenomena have different Phurlon lengths, what does the very edge look like?
The answer came from Phractilation. The UnPhurling doesn't explode outward from a single point like a bang. It builds. Layer by layer, each Phenom at the Phrontier birthing new Phenomenon outward into the Phorum. & from the very first moment more than one Phenomenon existed, asymmetry was inevitable.
A fully interior Phenomenon receives Phress influence from neighbours on all sides. Balanced. But a Phenomenon at the Phrontier is fully formed & yet surrounded by neighbours only on its inner faces. The Phorum side has nothing. No neighbouring Phress pulling from outside. That imbalance is the origin of everything. The wobble of the membranes. The varying Phurlon lengths across the Phenomena. The density variance that gives rise to gravity, to Phluidity, to temperature. It didn't begin with stars or black holes or any large scale structure. It began the instant the UnPhurling produced more than one Phenomenon. From the very first moment new Phenomenon grew from the first, there was an inside & an outside. & that was enough.
The Phrontier today is the same story, just bigger. The outermost Phenomenon at the edge of the Big Build are the newest. The freshest frames. Being birthed right now into the Phorum. They receive the least Phress influence from neighbours & so have the longest Phurlons in the entire Phenomena. & because the UnPhurling rate is constant at 1 Phurlon per Phlash everywhere, those long Phurlons mean each tick of the Phlash cycle covers more apparent ground out there than it does in our dense interior region. From where we're standing, the Phrontier appears to be accelerating away from us. It isn't. The build rate is constant. It's Phluidity ≋ again. Same animator. Bigger steps at the Phrontier.
& those Phrontier Phenomenon, with their enormous stretched Phurlons, are the reason for wavelengths that are far, far, far, far infrared. Microwave & beyond. That's the CMB. Not an echo of a big bang. A live feed from the Phrontier of a big build.
We are the old region. The dense, compressed, ancient interior. & what we call the Cosmic Microwave Background is us finally receiving a postcard from our great great great... & on & on... grandchildren. Sent long before today's Phrontier even existed. & by the time we receive it, gazillions more grandchildren will have been born. The Big Build never stopped. It's happening right now. We're just too far away & too slow to ever fully witness it.
