You can see the structure in the Phenomenon section
There is light, sound, and chemical — tangible, experiential realities we can directly observe. I’ve already shown how Phen Theory maps all colours in the universe through the Universal Colour Theory (UCT).
Now I’m introducing a new extension of Phen Theory — one that defines our interaction with reality through the senses, and ties directly into what I now refer to as the Universal Theories
UST forms the master map for the 6 sense theory maps & proposes that there are three generations of paired senses, each polarity consisting of an:
Internal (−) (rich) (absorptive, concentrated)
External (+) (vivid) (radiated, expressive)
These are mapped to the Phenomenon octahedron using positive and negative polarity.
Just like the Phen's potential energy state in the Phenom, Consciousness is a dark unseen potential “sense” — a kind of magnetism-like orientation sense — which helps us detect rotation and polarity, or our relative position in space. This is balance and proprioception. It is akin to the Phen — our inner centre or Phen-sense. Without it, we can’t maintain balance to interpret the other senses. It keeps us anchored to the centre of phenomenon. It is not a true sense of matter, as there is no such thing as absolute orientation in space — only relative direction, much like time. It is an illusion we need. This orientation sense is the compass for the POLECS System, allowing us to establish position within the six-directional coordinate space of the Phenomenon.
Bright Generation Pair ☀
(Light, EM projection, colour, visualisation, thought)
Mind (−) (rich) internal
Sight (+) (vivid) external (Mind at a distance)
Cool Generation Pair ❄
(Vibration, sound, pressure, tension, volume)
Touch (−) (rich) internal
Hearing (+) (vivid) external (Touch at a distance)
OSCILLO measures force in a volume — expressed as vibration, oscillation, or pressure.
(Speculation: Like the colour mixing phrames in RADIO and the state-transition phrames in CHEMO, OSCILLO is expected to reveal its own transitional flow structure — this page should be considered a preview placeholder until that mapping is complete.)
Warm Generation Pair ♨
(Chemical, substance, scent, matter, density)
Taste (−) (rich) internal
Smell (+) (vivid) external (Taste at a distance)
CHEMO measures density — the relational compactness and composition of matter within a volume.
Note: deeper structural CHEMO mapping will appear in the Phenomenal section.
Each 3D plane in the POLECS system defines two directional coordinates (e.g. up & down, front & back, left & right). Senses are mapped to these, but are not fixed — they are relatively oriented. A sense isn’t bound to a direction; it shifts based on the observer’s position.
If we loose a sense, we lose one coordinate. Example: losing sight removes mind at a distance, forcing us to rely on the other five senses — but orientation becomes less effective. If we lose all senses, we lose all coordinates. We can no longer orient consciousness (the ability to observe matter) in space. This is conscious death.
Even someone in a deep coma with just one sense (e.g. hearing) remains anchored to a single coordinate. That link keeps them attached to conscious orientation. Letting go of the final attachment — the last directional sense — is what Buddhists call Nirvana (Nibbāna). It is the death of ego and self — the release of orientation. It is consciousness relinquishing its mass, or internal resistance — the light compressed within the mind.
We return to the Phen (Zen) — the unobserved state.
Birth is the inverse of Nirvana. When observed, a no-thing (Phen) becomes self-conscious. This creates the divisions and generations responsible for:
Self-actualisation
Orientation
Attachment
That attachment creates stress (internal resistance), which we feel through our senses. That stress creates desire — the longing to return to a state of rest and equilibrium.
More correlations between senses, consciousness, and Buddhism will be explored in the future.
This is not mysticism or metaphor — but a model for how meditative observation in Buddhism and scientific measurement in physics are deeply related.
Those with a deep understanding of Buddhist meditation — observation without clinging — are perceiving the universe in a way remarkably similar to physicists, using different tools but observing the same Phenomena.
Phen — ΦΝ is a contraction of Physics / Phenomenon and Zen. It is based on the idea that everything arises (projects) from nothing. The merging of Zen and physical emergence is central to this theory — where observation creates experience, and letting go reveals the void.
“I feel that there is no coincidence that in Buddhism there is an Eightfold Path we need to follow to be in harmony with the universe, and also the eight-spoked wheel that is used in Buddhism — and its similarity to the Phenomenon structural model.”
